Vacancy Description 

Job Summary

We are seeking a Licensed Customs Broker Team Lead to oversee customs clearance operations and ensure compliance with customs laws and trade regulations. This role will lead daily customs operations, support team members, and act as the primary licensed resource within the team.


Job Duties

  • Oversee daily import and export customs clearance operations and ensure timely shipment processing

  • Act as the primary licensed customs broker responsible for customs compliance and operational oversight

  • Review and approve customs entries, documentation, HS classifications, duties, and tariff applications

  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure compliance with customs laws and trade requirements

  • Resolve customs clearance issues, audits, delays, and regulatory inquiries

  • Lead, manage, train, and mentor customs team members while overseeing workload distribution and team operations

  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners, including freight forwarders, carriers, and customs authorities

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and compliance standards

  • Prepare reports and provide operational and compliance updates to management


Job Requirements

  • Valid Licensed Customs Broker designation required

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in customs brokerage, international trade, or trade compliance

  • Previous team lead or supervisory experience required

  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import/export procedures, tariff classifications, and trade compliance requirements

  • Experience managing customs audits, compliance issues, and regulatory matters

  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead operations in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience working cross-functionally with internal teams, customs authorities, freight forwarders, and external stakeholders

  • Proficiency in customs brokerage systems and Microsoft Office applications
