Vacancy Description 

Job Summary

The Associate Legal Counsel will assist with a corporate and commercial matters, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, addressing employment law issues, managing regulatory compliance, and assisting the legal team. The position reports directly to the Senior Counsels in the legal team and involves a broad, evolving scope of responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on corporate, commercial, and labor and employment matters.

  • Support the legal team with business-critical issues related to commercial law, intellectual property, privacy, and employment law.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contractual agreements, including service, real estate, and employment agreements.

  • Manage litigation and claims in relevant subject areas.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and effective risk management.

  • Organize and maintain documents in both paper and electronic filing systems.

  • Update and create internal reports and training materials.


Education and Experience

  • Law degree from an accredited Canadian law school.

  • Member in good standing with a Canadian Law Society.

  • Minimum 2~4 years of experience in general corporate law, employment law, and/or contracts in a law firm and/or in-house setting.

  • Experience in logistics, distribution, and transportation is a plus.


Knowledge and Skills

  • Flexibility to handle shifting priorities and adapt to changing demands in a fast- paced, dynamic environment.

  • Ability to learn laws and regulations of different provinces, countries, and jurisdictions.

  • Understanding of operational process and industry-specific knowledge.

  • Willingness to travel on a regular basis (mainly U.S., Canada, and Mexico).

  • Strong problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent calendaring, organizational, and multitasking abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to collaborate with all organizational levels, demonstrating a team-oriented work style.

  • Bilingual in Korean and English is a plus.
